Anodisation black brushed aluminium

Strikingly different yet understated, the „Omniturm“ fits perfectly into the Frankfurt skyline. A spiral shift in the center of the building forms its most striking characteristic feature. The surfaces that appear to have been "pushed out" from the building's cube also function as terraces for the eight residential floors. The concept comes from the Danish firm BIG, led by architect Bjarke Ingels. The unique blend of unusual, imaginative, high-quality, and yet restrained design is uncompromisingly evident in every detail. For example, the vertical window elements are made of aluminum profiles with an E2 C35 finish—a glossy, black anodised surface with a fine brushed texture. Vertical ventilation flaps in the center of the profiles offer a contemporary solution for controlling the indoor climate. The production of these window profiles and ventilation elements was carried out entirely at ALUTECTA using a special combination of different processing steps. The mechanical treatment of the entire profile surface by brushing is the first step. A protective film is then applied, which protects both components from flying aluminum shavings during the waste-free milling of the ventilation elements. Both parts can be used. Because both components are made from a single workpiece and have been finished with a brushed texture, they are a perfect visual match. This project-specific, turnkey solution offers optimal quality, favorable economic conditions, and minimal material waste.
